The City of Alhambra has been an important partner in facilitating this popular cultural event. While it started as just a local community event, the Lunar New Year Celebration has experienced continuous growth and popularity over the years. Today, the Celebration includes representation from cities throughout the West San Gabriel Valley area of more than 1.68 million people.  

Alhambra, "Gateway to the San Gabriel Valley", lies just eight miles east of downtown Los Angeles. Over 90,000 residents live in a charming community of tree lined streets and quality housing, recreation and public and private educational opportunities. The newly revitalized downtown area, "Auto Row", and the many Valley Boulevard retail locations provide a wide array of opportunities for the discerning shopper. Alhambra's industrial climate features high-tech companies that compliment the City's established economic base in a well-planned industrial corridor. The city offers the luxuries of a cosmopolitan city charm and the serenity of a friendly, family oriented community.
